Hayden's Gateway Hotel, Galway
Image of Hayden's Gateway Hotel Ballinasloe
Ballinasloe, Co. Galway lies at the most southerly point of the River Suck. It is primarily a market town, however, there is also a significant manufacturing sector. The town is now principally recognised for the Great October Fair. This fair has been conducted since the early 18th century. The name Ballinasloe means Mouth of the Ford of the Hostings. A village therefore developed near the fords and close to two castles which were built to control the fords. Our charming hotel is ideal as a base from which to explore and enjoy all that Ireland`s West Coast and all the treasures that the unspoilt Midlands have to offer. That is if you can pull yourself away from this haven! The area is rich in heritage and history also, from Clonmacnoise, Europe`s most ancient monastic university, to Kilconnell`s 14th century Franciscan Abbey, to the site of the 1691 Battle of Aughrim. While for the kids there`s the Glendeer Pet Farm just a short drive away. Lynch Hayden`s Gateway is ideally situated as one of the West`s leading short break hotels. Golfers for example are spoilt for choice with 6 parkland courses, including the famous Glasson Golf and Country Club, to choose from; anglers have the River Suck literally on their doorstep as is a cruise along the majestic Shannon. The Staff and managers at the Hayden's gateway hotel enjoy meeting new guests and are dedicated to catering for your ever need and make you feel welcome and relaxed.
